Our Vision

At Brandling Primary School, we aspire to create scientists who develop an enthusiasm and passion for the subject. We endeavour to embrace all children’s natural curiosity about the universe around them, spanning from EYFS all the way through their learning journey at our school. Children begin their science journey by creating a solid foundation which is built upon throughout the key stages. It is vital that children recognise the importance of science in every aspect of daily life. We aim to increase pupil’s knowledge and discovery of our world whilst developing their understanding of scientific enquiry. We strive to allow our pupils to question and develop their scientific vocabulary in an engaging, fun environment. We aim to provide a high quality, rich, hands-on science curriculum which inspires a love of learning. Science is taught at Brandling Primary School within an enquiry based approach. At the heart of this idea is the belief that knowledge is empowering, unlocks doors and provides a foundation for achieving success. Beginning each lesson with a question recognises that whilst it is important for pupils to increase and extend their knowledge of the subject, it is also vital that they have space and time to develop as scientists.
